Quest - Yggdrasil Edit

1. Golden Pride Edit

And who is this? Who dares speak to me so brashly? Me, The Great Golden Gullweig? I rule over all with almighty golden authority! How dare you defy me? Hugin must have sent you. Ha ha ha... that thoughtless crow! I'm working to restore the ruined spring. Those idiot trolls may be causing trouble now, but I'll soon have my glorious revenge. This is of no concern for the likes of you, however. A matter such as this is trifling to one such as me.

~

I sent a carrier pidgeon to warn her earlier. Have you no idea how degrading it is for one such as I to perform so vulgar a task? I shan't do it again, you know. Perhaps you can deliver this Warning to that foolish crow? She better not forget who I am!

Mission: Absurd Letter from Hugin

Reward:

  • Experience: 202,500
  • Gold: 120,000
  • Ambrosia x50

2. You Dare? Edit

What's this? You've returned to talk back to me, I presume? I don't like that look in your eyes. I'm The Great Golden Gullweig. All submit to my authority! What's in that box? It's a gift for me, is it? It would be proper for you to open the box and show me its contents.

~

I'm to open it myself, am I? Hmph! I don't care what that stupid crow says. Open it right now!

Mission: Use Mysterious Box x1

~

Ha ha. I knew exactly what was in it. If I had opened it, I would have fallen under Hugin's spell. That fool crow! The spell only would have worked if I opened the box myself, so I'm sure you've nothing to worry about.

Reward:

  • Experience: 202,500
  • Gold: 120,000
  • Scroll of Judgment III x5

3. Prompt Payment Edit

The crow, Hugin, and the skeleton, Mimir, are ghosts of Yggdrasil's past! They do not belong here. It's time for me, Gullweig, to exercise my supreme authority all over the world. New wine must be put into fresh wineskins! I'll make that place better than ever before. It won't be trapped in the cobwebs of the past forever. I'm gold personified! Gold! That glorious name! Even the wizards, with their god-like powers, cannot challenge the power of gold. Ha ha ha. Don't fight me. It's in your best interest to help me, is it not? Just think about it. Gold can be traded anywhere, right?

~

I asked the Gnomes in The World Tree's Trunk to mine the remaining gold and bring them to me to be treated. And yet, here I am, still waiting for my gold. The Gnome Generals foolishly ignore my orders and take their share of the gold. Get the Payment Gold from the Gnome Generals. Help me save another poor pocket from the dangerous weight of gold!

Mission: Payment Gold x40

~

You finally return. What took you so long? I'm a bit disappointed.

Reward:

  • Experience: 356,400
  • Gold: 200,000
  • Ambrosia x50

4. What's Good for Me Is Good for You 1 Edit

Though she acted against me, the crow Hugin may still prove useful. Perhaps I should convince her to join me. I'm as generous as I am humble! Ha ha. What's good for me is good for you!

~

Take this Bewitching Gold Ingot to Hugin. It's truly incredible. It might even change her mind! But do not keep it for yourself, no matter what. Got it?

Mission: This Should Work from Hugin

Reward:

  • Experience: 202,500
  • Gold: 120,000
  • Guardian Stone I x100

5. What's Good for Me Is Good for You 2 Edit

Ha ha ha. I knew it. They're too incompetent to recognize my power. But the skeleton Mimir is known for his wisdom, isn't he? I could use his help, as well. That will take some doing...

~

Bring him this Bewitched Gold Ingots. Hm, but you are a strange one. You don't mind delivering this precious gold to others? You don't want to keep it for yourself?

Mission: Bad Money Drives Out the Good from Mimir

Reward:

  • Experience: 202,500
  • Gold: 160,000
  • Blessing Potion x1

6. Magical Reinforcement Edit

Their manners could use some work. But they both yielded to my greater abilities. That's great! Like I said, gold rules over everything! Almost everyone alive longs for gold. That's why I think you're so odd. Isn't there anything you feel greed for? Actually, you might be the most reliable person that I've ever met. I like your fortitude. It will come in handy in the future.

~

I must make some more of this gold. Will you help me? Please collect White Wolf Hides from the Violent White Wolves. As you must already know, these wolves have magical powers. HINT: (You can find the Violent White Wolves in the north of Helsinki).

Mission: White Wolf Hide x50

~

Why did it take so long? I'm a little bit disappointed. From now on, you should become stronger so that you can beat monsters like these wolves with no problem. Wouldn't you agree? Hm, I shall look at it as you simply having more room to grow.

Reward:

  • Experience: 356,400
  • Gold: 200,000

7. Valkyries' Ghosts Edit

Anyway, I'll need the Norn sisters on my side in order to subjugate Yggdrasil. I would meet with them right now, if I could. Sadly, that's not how things are done. First, I must research the Valkyries who guard the sisters. This will give me a sense of the situation. I can't afford to move forward blindly.

~

You must face off against the Valkyrie Knights and Valkyrie Spearmen. Do this until you receive enough Valkyrie's Soul Stones from them.

Mission: Valkyrie's Soul Stone x30

~

The warrior women's armor may be intimidating, but their souls are easily broken. They must be treated carefully.

Reward:

  • Experience: 388,800
  • Gold: 200,000
  • Enhance Stone III x10

8. Unstable Ghosts Edit

Hm... I didn't expect them to look this unstable. Is there something going on here that I don't know about? Hm... I suppose it would be boring if there weren't any surprises.

~

We must keep the soul stones safe. Will you get some Platinum Ingots for me? That noble metal will make the perfect container for these souls.

Mission: Platinum Ingot x20

~

Hm... Very good!

Reward:

  • Experience: 202,500
  • Gold: 200,000

9. What Are These For? Edit

My research will take too long if I use these weak souls! Perhaps it would be best to go after the Valkyrie Generals, who are in charge of the Valkyries. Of course... I'm making this up as I go.

~

Go see the Valkyrie Generals and get their Orders. It will be difficult to find the orders because they will be hidden. And you must be very patient.

Mission: Valkyrie General's Orders x1

~

Hm... That's great. Thank you. Brunhilda'...? That woman is still their commander?

Reward:

  • Experience: 388,800
  • Gold: 220,000

10. The Eye that Sees Everything Edit

Brunhilda is an old enemy of mine! I can't believe that she's still alive. Ooh, that witch... I haven't got the time to deal with her myself... Of course that doesn't mean I don't have the power to beat her! I must meet her ghost and try to resolve this peacefully. But it won't be easy for me to face Brunhilda. Her apparition is astounding. I will need to prepare some things...

~

I require the Eye of Odin. That impertinent crow Hugin will know where it is. It was one of her former master's possessions. You must find out where the eye is and bring it to me as soon as possible.

Mission: Eye of Odin x1

~

Ha ha ha. Good job. This fabulous artifact will ensure my clarity. Now no one can escape my watchful eye!

Reward:

  • Experience: 202,500
  • Gold: 170,000

11. The Power to Rule the World Edit

I need one more thing. I need you to bring me the Ring of Desire. I've used it before. It has incredibly strong magical powers. It's passed through human hands, and it destroyed every one. Ha ha ha. You can imagine how dangerous it is, then... It used to belong to the wizards of Yggdrasil, but its power threw them into chaos. It served them right for trying to use something that wasn't rightly theirs! It would have been too hard to get it back before. But now, finally, it will be mine again.

~

Mimir must know where the Ring of Desire is. That pile of bones once tried to steal it before. Hurry up!

Mission: Ring of Desire x1

~

Hm... Well done! It must have been hard for you to get this for me.

Reward:

  • Experience: 202,500
  • Gold: 170,000
  • Ashen Jewel x20

12. My Enemy, Brunhilda! Edit

Now I'm ready to face that nasty Brunhilda! I can face anything now! The ghosts of the past can't do anything to stop me. Ha ha ha!

~

Go and defeat nasty Brunhilda. I will meet her when she becomes a ghost. HINT: (You can find Brunhilda at the World Tree's Branches).

Mission: Kill Brunhilda x1

~

Ah ha ha ha! That old rivalry will soon be over! I can finally face Brunhilda! What? N-no... I haven't...! No! Don't!

Reward:

  • Experience: 324,000
  • Gold: 200,000
  • Destroyer's Charm I x100

13. Back Home Edit

Oh, what have I done? What have I been doing? What are these things in my hands? Who am I? What's happening?

~

Gullweig is in a state of panic and is incapable of talking. Her trembling hands drop the Eye of Odin. It seems as if the eye can be used to see Brunhilda's ghost. Maybe it should be brought back to its original owner, Hugin.

Mission: What Have I Done? from Hugin

Reward:

  • Experience: 202,500
  • Gold: 170,000

14. Past Edit

Oh, you're back. I'm still dizzy but I feel better than before. I don't know how long I was under her power. I'm sorry that my will wasn't stronger. Can you imagine my distress? It's such a pity that it makes me consider changing my ways. Anyway, it's my own fault. I wronged both Hugin and Mimir. I even wronged the Norn Sisters, the masters of my soul. Well, I'll tell you what you need to do now, step by step.

~

First, you must defeat Urd, the goddess of the past, and get the Past Marble. Oh, don't worry. It won't kill her. Just knock her out long enough to take the marble. After that, she will regain consciousness. HINT: (You can find Urd in the World Tree's Flower).

Mission: Post Marble x1

~

You've brought it. Okay. I'll tell you my story. It all starts long ago... I didn't lure the wizards with greed for gold. Rather, it was Oriharukon that fascinated them. This greed disrupted the natural order of things. It's easy to mistake Oriharukon for gold, though, because it has the same copper-like color. Why did it happen? The civilized people of Atlantis had a hand in it. Not only did they destroy many natural resources, they also decided to take a stand against the Norn Sisters, who maintain Yggdrasil. They planned to do this by destroying me, Gullweig. This was, of course, not an easy task to undertake.

Reward:

  • Experience: 391,500
  • Gold: 360,000
  • World Tree Key x1

15. Present Edit

There's more to the current situation, though. But before I finish my story, I have another favor to ask.

~

Can you put Verdandi, the goddess of the present to sleep for a while? And return with the Present Marble. HINT: (You can find Verdandi in the World Tree's Flower).

Mission: Present Marble x1

~

Did you get it? Okay, I'll continue my story now. First, let me tell you a little bit about the Ring of Desire. If we are to believe the legend of the Nibelungen ring, it was made of a mysterious type of gold found in the Rhine River. It was known to contain magical powers of frightening strength, but it really was a Concentrated Oriharukon Device. It is a much more powerful magic item than the Oriharukon Sensor. You probably haven't heard or seen anything like that before. Since I was controlled by the people of Atlantis, wherever I went, I used the ring to confuse and bewlider people. But don't worry. My Oriharukon Energy powers are too weak to threaten the world anymore. Even though I did defeat Hugin and Mimir for a brief moment. Ha ha ha. And the ring is useless now, even if Mimir did succeed in recovering it. It's fortunate that he doesn't know how to fully obtain its powers.

Reward:

  • Experience: 391,500
  • Gold: 360,000
  • World Tree Key x1

16. Future Edit

Now it's time to tell you what we need to do. Can I ask you for one more favor?

~

I promise that this will be the last one. You must go see Skuld, the goddess of the future, and bring me the Future Marble.

Mission: Future Marble x1

~

Hm... This will be my last chance to explain my madness. But I won't deceive myself. I know that my sins won't be forgiven anytime soon, even if I wasn't acting of my own free will. Well, I learned something that might make you a little bit nervous. I think that you are a Scion of Atlantis. My magical powers didn't work on you. That's how I figured it out. I also figured out that you're trying to find your lost home. Well, don't look at me like that. If you were any other Scion of Atlantis, you would have defeated me instantly. But you're different. With your actions, you can demonstrate that the evil ways of Atlantis are not your ways. Even if the blood of Atlantis does flow within you... I have heard of a group of sisters called the Atlas sisters. Their names are Lea, Ellesian and Lilith. They used to imitate the Norn Sisters. I guess they appear in your dreams nowadays, huh? Ha ha ha. Don't be fooled by them... The Atlas sisters are just a representation of Atlas, the magical being who produces Oriharukon. The Continent of Atlantis, or Atlantica, was sent to another dimension. That's why no one has been able to find it. Well, that's as much as I know. However, the only thing I'm sure of is that they sent away because of their endless search for more and more power.

Reward:

  • Experience: 391,500
  • Gold: 360,000
  • Ashen Jewel x20

17. It'll Be Fine Now Edit

I'm going to do my best to help the Norn sisters return to normal. It's the only way to atone for my sins. I'm also going to make the broken Ring of Desire useful once again. I think you should have it. It will help you follow the blood in your body all the way home.

~

With the help of Hugin's insight and Mimir's wisdom, they will be able to make a milestone key using this. This will give you access to a door which leads to the other dimension. You look like a credible person, especially considering that you are a Scion of Atlantis. Maybe you can help heal this world a little bit. Good luck!
