Quest - Bran Castle[]

1.Devastated Bran Castle[]

Oh, Lord. How has Bran Castle come into this state... My Lord, please guide me! Hm? Oh. I didn't notice you. An energetic adventurer in this gloomy place, eh? It seems I am not forsaken, after all. Hm. Sighing to myself won't improve the situation, will it? Do you know where you are? Do you see that huge, splendid castle? People call it Bran Castle. Not too long ago, strange things began to happen in the castle. People who venture in never return, and those who do return do so with hardly any life left in them. Oh, I serve as archbishop here. Please call me Dmitri. I was born here, but have been away for the ministry. Since so many strange things have taken place throughout the world, I sent my junior, Father Heinrich here to find out about my hometown. However, upon receiving his report of the situation, I came back myself to see what I could discover. ~ Anyway, you are an adventurer, yes? The world needs adventurers like you more than ever. May I ask of you a favor then? Please, rid us of the bats on Bran Castle 1F. They swarm about the entrance, so that people cannot even think of entering. Hunt Black Striped Bats and Red Striped Bats, and bring me 50 Bat Teeth as evidence.

Mission: Bat Teeth x50

~

Oh, well done. I feel much better now. There have been rumors around Bran Castle that those bats take people away into the night. But thanks to you, that rumor should die down in a few days' time. We may not be able to eliminate the bats completely, but culling their numbers is a help.

Reward:

  • Experience: 48,000
  • Gold: 75,000
  • Item: Life Potion[II] x5

2.Special Action[]

Having Father Heinrich, who arrived here before me, has been a great help. He is well versed in exorcism and is a man of faith. He has thrown himself wholly into this investigation. ~ Oh, we're short on the holy water that we've been using to cure the villagers. This holy water works excellently, since Father Heinrich made it himself using a special recipe. Would you mind going to Father Heinrich to help his investigation and collect more holy water? Oh, don't forget to hand him this sample of Bat Teeth.

Mission: Silver Holy Water Box x1

~

I see you've brought the holy water. Oh, this has been treated with silver! Silver... I've heard that silver has a special efficacy in warding off unholy beings. If we're using silver, this must be a very serious situation. We are fortunate to have Father Heinrich, who always puts forth his best effort.

Reward:

  • Experience: 40,000
  • Gold: 75,000
  • Item: Bat Teeth x10

3.People[]

Unfortunately, there is a limit to how many mercenaries you may keep with you at any time, and new mercenaries may refuse to join you if you've reached this limit. Of course, you can use a Merc. Room to board mercenaries that you don't need with you at the moment. There are mercenaries wandering throughout the world who are ready to serve by your side. ~ Please, have a seat, and I'll tell you more. When you attempt to hire a mercenary while your formation is full, they will give you a gift instead. It's to thank you for your kindness, and because they regret that they can't go with you.

Mission: Sit (Shortcut X)

~

Ah, I seem to have gone on a tangent. Let's return to the issue at hand.

Reward:

  • Experience: 44,000
  • Gold: 90,000
  • Item: Scroll of Bewitching [II] x2

4.Safety of Servants[]

Bran Castle 1F has become quiet again, thanks to you. But that was the easy part. The real work has only just begun. All the servants who were unable to escape are confined to Bran Castle 2F. They were charged with keeping the lord of the castle safe, so I am worried about their safety. ~ According to the survivors, several Servants were attacked by bats and hounds. Although they are not dead, they have changed into something... different. Their situation is truly piteous, but I think it is our duty to end their suffering. Go and defeat those Servants. You can find them at the entrance of Bran Castle: 2F. Perhaps this is a brutal approach to the problem, but it must be done...

Mission: Kill Servant x20

~

They... they mindlessly attacked you? This cannot be. The castle servants were renowned for their kindness, regardless of background or circumstances. It was Count Tepes' personal code. Wicked spirits must be possessing them in an effort to confuse us. Even though you've defeated them, there's no apparent change in the castle's state. I have no idea what's going on. To an extent, it's logical that those on the second floor cannot be safe while those monstrous creatures are wandering about the first floor. This worries me. Count Tepes is a man of moral influence who has protected the castle against foreign invasion for a very long time. The villagers praise him as a hero. Of course, in the eyes of his enemies, he must be a brutal, cruel tyrant, but here, he has been called the guardian of his people. It is a terrible thing to be without this lofty man's guidance.

Reward:

  • Experience: 44,000
  • Gold: 90,000
  • Item: Bran Castle Equipment Box x5

5.My Worries[]

Whatever it takes, I wish to end this quickly. But right now, I have this ominous feeling that things will get worse before they get better... ~ I fear that my hunch my be correct. Please obtain

Mission: Torn, Bloody Clothes x25

~

It can't be... But this confirms it! These poor souls have been transformed into vile vampires!

Reward:

  • Experience: 48,000
  • Gold: 105,000
  • Item: Life Potion[II] x10

6.Grand Chamberlain's Note[]

Thanks to you, people have calmed down a bit, but it will be the end of this town if they find out about the vampires. If it were like the past, we could have contacted the Vatican and recruited the Templar Knights to wipe them out, but we cannot do that now... ~ You investigated the clothing of the Stewards, yes? We should take a look at Count Tepes' personal servants, as well. Search the Lord Chamberlains and Chief Chamberlains thoroughly and find out if they have the Chamberlain's Records. Many of them walk the halls of Bran Castle 2F as if they own the place.

Mission: Chamberlain's Records x1

~

Oh, these blood-covered papers belonged to the Lord Chamberlain. Oh, God...

Reward:

  • Experience: 57,600
  • Gold: 105,000
  • Item: Enchant Stone [II] x5

7.Heinrich's Analysis[]

...Lord preserve us. I cannot comprehend the entire situation from this alone, but at a glance, I can tell you that this record entails a very serious matter. I believe that Heinrich will be able to provide us with a more detailed analysis, as he is well studied in exorcism, so I've forwarded it to him. However, he is having difficulties analyzing it. Go see if you can offer him any help. ~ He is a faithful, strong-willed person, but the devastating events we have witnessed may have left him shaken. I would be shocked if he is okay; watching, listening, and feeling everything at the scene. Even I, who has followed God's faith for many decades, feel restless. Hurry. Please go help priest Heinrich. That man, he carries a heavy burden on his shoulders.

Mission: The Count is Incorrect from Heinrich

~

I suspected you were going to return to me soon. As I feared, Father Heinrich was throwing oil on the fire.

Reward:

  • Experience: 48,000
  • Gold: 105,000
  • Item: Stew x10

8.Slayer's Preparation 1[]

That diary does shed some light on the situation. Whatever you want to call them now, it's clear that they are under some otherworldly influence. As much as it pains me, for now we must consider them vampires, and as such must be slain. As legend has it, the only way to completely kill a vampire is to hammer a wooden spike, soaked with holy water, through his heart... ~ You may be able to defeat them in combat, but we will need to be prepared to ensure they do not rise again. I'll prepare some wooden spikes. Get me 20 Pine logs from the market.

Mission: Pine x20

~

It wasn't easy to make wooden spikes... Well, it's done.

Reward:

  • Experience: 52,000
  • Gold: 135,000

9.Slayer's Preparation 2[]

Father Heinrich was worried that he had surrendered his will to evil at that time. I told him not to worry, because I can see that his own strength of heart and spirit have returned. ~ It falls to us to finish this. Craft a Holy Stake. (You can craft a Holy Stake through Quest Crafting.)

Mission: Craft Holy Stake x2

~

Thank you. I am sorry that the situation has become so extreme. I'll hold onto these spikes for now. Maybe there will be things we need to investigate after you kill them.

Reward:

  • Experience: 54,000
  • Gold: 150,000
  • Item: Ambrosia x10

10.Sisters' Caring Hands[]

It's time to slay those two villains in Bran Castle. Dracula and Elizabeth must die for peace to return. First, destroy Elizabeth, and then the Count. ~ But before fighting Elizabeth, I think we should talk to Anastasia, because it's her one and only sibling. Go to Anastasia first.

Mission: Until I See you In the Afterlife from Anastasia

~

Well done. I think Countess Elizabeth can rest in peace now. When we're done investigating and the Templar Knights arrive, we will perform a ritual to prevent them from returning to life. No, she may not have been a true vampire. But even if she was not the vampire of legend, her history is long entangled in evil. Both of them, of course.

Reward:

  • Experience: 54,000
  • Gold: 450,000

11.Slaying Dracula[]

Now the issue regarding Count Vlad Tepes still remains... We have no choice, since he's transformed into something evil. We are almost ready, so go and give Count Tepes eternal sleep. Ah, I suppose I should call him Dracula now...? The name Dracula itself doesn't have a bad meaning, but thanks to that monster, it's a name that will live on in notoriety. What a shame... ~ Dracula may be staying in the Living Room of Bran Castle. Get rid of him and bring Dracula's Pendant as evidence. Oh, God... Please have mercy on your little lamb...

Mission: Dracula's Pendant x1

~

Everything's done. Though this ordeal came to an unsatisfactory end, I'm relieved now. No more innocent people will be harmed. I've learned that this world is full of things that we cannot fully understand through common knowledge over the last couple days... Count Tepes and Countess Bathory would not bear any grudges since they were loved and respected by many people in their life. Those servants who were drawn in without any recognition's, are truly pitiable beings... In that sense, it's good for them that both used to be recognized as great people before they turned evil.

Reward:

  • Experience: 100,000
  • Gold: 300,000
  • Item: Bran Castle Equipment Box x10

12.The Vampire's Requiem 2[]

This is the Vampire's Requiem. While the Templar Knights will use wooden spikes to eradicate the vampires' bodies, you'd better read these prayers to comfort their souls. Anastasia already made the prayers for Elizabeth. Oh, did she pray for him, as well? Anastasia may be as guilt-ridden as I am. ~ Anyway, please read this Vampires' Requiem. May the souls of the pitiful Vampires rest in peace.

Mission: Use Vampire's Requiem x1

~

O Mighty Lord... To you we entrust these poor souls. Please lead them and may they find peace in your Kingdom... Right after you left to fight Elizabeth, a woman I'd never seen came to me and advised me to make these prayers. She muttered something under her breath. I couldn't quite make it out, but I think I heard her say "Orqui"... She was very suspicious, but what she said was the right thing to do. So, I did as she told me to.

Reward:

  • Experience: 200,000
  • Gold: 180,000
  • Item: Babylon's Equipment Box x2

13.Bothersome Rumor[]

So, are you leaving now? Once the Templar Knights come and clean up these affairs, this place will return to its old, peaceful state. Thank you so much for helping us. God will bless you. If you're thinking of going down south, you can stop by the area around Athens. An architect named Daedalus spent all of his time and effort in building his masterpiece called the Cretan Labyrinth. They say that the building is crawling with all manner of wicked creatures. ~ Athens is an ancient city, and is located not far from the Vatican. That such a place could face such troubles concerns me. On top of that, there is a rumor that the labyrinth might have been built on the ruins of an ancient civilization that was destroyed long ago. Go to [Athens] and meet [Daedalus]. Well, good bye then. I hope we can meet again someday in the future...

Mission: Talk to Daedalus

~

...

Reward:

  • Experience: 60,000
  • Gold: 200,000
